When the whole family's going away together: multi-home, multi-pet sits

Every so often I get a booking that doesn't fit neatly into “one home, one pet.” One memorable sit involved a family wedding in Spain, adult siblings from different homes, and ten days where nobody was around.
Between them: two dogs, two cats and a turtle. We consolidated everyone at the parents' home, one base, one sitter, and animals who'd never actually lived together before.
How you manage that many pets under one roof
The cats didn't get on, so each had a bedroom and explored one at a time on a rotation. The dogs got on from the start, with the run of the house and regular garden time. The turtle mostly kept to himself.
It's an extension of a normal in-home sit: know every routine, keep animals safely separate where needed, and let the ones who get along enjoy the company.
Why consolidating makes sense
- One trusted sitter rather than several bookings across several homes
- Less disruption for animals who already know each other
- One point of contact and one care pack
- Separate spaces and staggered time for pets who don't get on
Is this only for weddings?
- A family holiday where everyone's travelling
- A milestone celebration or reunion
- Friends travelling together whose dogs already get on
- Any trip where one home and one sitter is simpler
Questions people ask about this
Do the pets need to know each other? It helps, but isn't essential. Introductions are managed carefully and pets can have separate spaces.
Can you manage that many animals? Yes, it comes down to understanding each routine and planning their interactions.
Does it cost more? Every quote is bespoke, based on the pets, their needs and the length of the sit.
Where we cover this
Multi-pet and multi-home sits are available across the London neighbourhoods we cover, including Chelsea, Kensington, Knightsbridge, Islington, Westminster, Hampstead, Clapham, Balham, Battersea, Dulwich and Brixton.
